NEW MADRID EARTHQUAKE ZONE ACTING UP
STRANGE ANIMAL BEHAVIORS IN THE MIDWEST // NEW MADRID ZONE 4.1 QUAKE
May 1, 2005
I have one of the world's most nonchalant cats. She isn't spooked by much. This afternoon she darted into the house and huddled in the corner of the bedroom closet (no pursuing dogs or loud noises). Since then, she has been clawing frantically at the front door, wanting to go back to the closet hideaway. This is the first time she has ever displayed this type of behavior. My friend's dog is also actingstrangely and displaying an odd assortment of (psychosomatic???)symptoms.
Farmers in southern Missouri are reporting today on the syzygy phenomena board of odd behaviors among their farm animals. The attached link is to the USGS report of a 4.1 quake that occurred this morning directly south of the epicenter of the great NewMadrid quake. (I hope the animals are just acting weird and not sensing a larger event for the Midwest.)
